How Font Finder works

Font Finder compares the visible letter shapes in an image or logo against a controlled open-font library. When you upload an authorized design file, it instead checks available live-font names and metadata. A visual result is a ranked similarity, not a claim that the original commercial font was identified.

Steps for a better result

1. Crop one clear word against a simple background.
2. Enter the text if you know it and correct detected letters when needed.
3. Choose the appropriate verification, then compare more than one candidate.
4. Open the official source and review licensing before using any font.

Tips before uploading

Use a sharp capture at 100% zoom, keep letter terminals and the baseline visible, and avoid shadows, texture, and decoration where possible. If an image contains several fonts, upload each word or style separately.

For Illustrator, PDF, PSD, InDesign, and other design files

File scanning does not extract or redistribute font binaries. It reads available names and metadata from a file you are authorized to inspect, so you know what to request from the design owner or official publisher.
